In the video I show you what you need to change in the JS and how you would change it. I also remind you to fork (and save) your pen to get the URL with your username to copy and submit in a Private comment to me.

In the video I also encourage you to explore the code and try additional changes as well. Challenge yourself to try different things and see what changes you can make. You can submit a few versions of your game by submitting multiple URLs.
Paste the URL (s) to your game in a Private comment (s).

Have fun with this!

PLEASE let me know if you have questions or need some help with this!!

Day 19 & 20 - Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28

I can statement...learn to code by viewing and modifying existing code.
Check our Google Classroom page for instructions.

Objective: Work on coding skills.
One way to learn coding is by working through someone else's code to see how it works. By reading code and making changes you can see how the coding works. We will use the CodePen Javascript Hangman game by Cathy Dutton today. The idea is for you to explore the code, and for you to find where and how you need to make the changes through trial and error.

Video Instructions (8:23): https://cloud.swivl.com/v/c48fb4b71679654253b55f1b6f0b427a

Hangman URL: https://codepen.io/cathydutton/pen/ldazc
This is definitely harder to do on a phone so if you have the option to use another device I recommend it.

Here is a list of changes you will make to the code today.
Part A:
1. Modify the words "Vanilla JavaScript Hangman Game" to read "Modified by yournamehere"
** Fork you work!**

Part B: You played the game on Day 18 - Friday, April 24. The football teams were not from the NFL but from England's soccer teams.
1. Change "The Chosen Category Is Premier League Football Teams" to "The Chosen Category Is NFL Football Teams"
2. Change the football teams from the 7 England soccer teams to 7 American NFL teams. If you are not familiar with NFL football teams you may need to do some searching.
3. Change the football hints so they are appropriate for the 7 NFL teams.  (Examples: The team is in Minnesota, The head coach is _______, The starting quarterback is ________.)
**Reminder: Fork or Save your work** (Fork will make a new copy and give you a new URL, Save will replace your forked copy and keep the same URL. I have not seen the Save option on my phone or iPad.)

Part C:
1. You are to replace the cities and films categories with two different categories. (Examples: Food, Disney Characters, TV Shows, ...)
2. Update the words
3. Update the hints
**Reminder: Fork or Save your work** (Fork will make a new copy, Save will replace your forked copy)

Part D:
1. Copy the URL for you finished work and Paste the URL into the Private Comment for this assignment. (Be sure to Fork or Save before you copy the URL)
2. Take a screen shot showing your new categories under JS and attach to this assignment.
3. Take a screen shot of one of your games partially played and attach to this assignment.
