SchoolView

Parents:  To initiate a SchoolView account you will need to pick up your access key at the school office. You will need this access key to setup your SchoolView account so you can gain access to your child's academic information. SchoolView access keys will be available at the start of the new school year.

Parents and students will have separate accounts. Students may get their access key in the high school computer lab.

How do I subscribe to the Automatic Attendance Alert?
• Click on the Preferences tab on the screen.
• Check “attendance.”
• Add your e-mail address. Note: The district does not distribute/sell e-mail information to other parties.
• This feature will send an e-mail to your address when your son or daughter is marked tardy or absent. The e-mail will request that you check SchoolView for attendance details. Only one e-mail will be sent per day.
• It is important to understand that a student’s attendance status could change during the course of the day or days following the alert. Attendance discrepancies will be addressed in a timely manner but parents are advised that e-mail alerts may or may not be an accurate representation of their child’s daily attendance and these matters are often resolved the following day(s). Note: You do not need to repeat the above process unless you wish to cancel your subscription or edit your e-mail address.

How do I log out of SchoolView?
• After viewing your child's information, click on the Log Out link to exit the page.
• Note: Not logging out can exposes your student’s private information.

Why do some classes have many assignments listed in the grade book and others do not?
• No two courses are alike. The volume of assignments and/or tests, and the speed at which they are corrected will vary from course to course and teacher to teacher.

What should I do if an assignment is listed as missing?
• Discuss the missing assignment with your child.
• Once an assignment is turned in, it could be several days before a teacher corrects the work and records the mark in the grade book.
• If a turned in assignment is listed as missing, and several days have passed since it was turned in, have your child discuss the status of the assignment with the teacher.
• If your child has been unable to resolve the concern, contact the teacher directly.

What should I do if my child disputes an assignment/test score as listed in the grade book?
• Discuss the concern with your child.
• Ask your child to discuss the mark in question with the teacher.
• If your child has been unable to resolve the concern, contact the teacher directly.

What should I do if I believe my child’s attendance in SchoolView is not accurate?
• Discuss the concern with your child.
• Ask your child to discuss the absence with the teacher or office.
• If your child has been unable to resolve the concern, contact the teacher or office.

What does it mean if I receive an email attendance alert from SchoolView?
• You have elected to have the system send you an email alert.
• An email alert is sent to you when your child is marked absent from class. You will be sent a maximum of one alert per day. The email will contain no attendance data.
• If a student is late to class the teacher may have marked them absent. The teacher can not change the absence. This must be done in the office. The teacher will notify the office if the student is marked absent but then arrives to class. The attendance should be updated by 4 pm.
• The email will tell you to check SchoolView.

What should I do if I receive an email attendance alert from SchoolView?
• Check your child’s attendance in SchoolView.
• If your child has been marked absent, re-check the mark later in the day to see if the attendance status has changed. This should be updated by 4 pm each day.
• If by the end of the day, the attendance mark is still a concern, talk to your child about the attendance situation.
