Lester Prairie School is seeking a 1.0 FTE Elementary Special Education Teacher 
2026-2027 School Year 

Lester Prairie is a rural community located in eastern McLeod County on the edge of the western suburbs.  Located 20 minutes west of Lake Minnetonka and 50 minutes from Minneapolis, Lester Prairie is an ideal location to get the best of both the “city” and “rural” life. We have an enrollment of approximately 400 K-12 students.  

Start Date:  August 24, 2026 – 181 duty days

License Required: Valid MN SPED licensure.
Responsibilities:
•    Create lessons and learning environments that are appropriate for all students with varying level of skills.
•    Assess students’ developmental, cognitive and social needs and provide developmentally appropriate instruction to meet those needs. 
•    Establish developmentally appropriate instructional and behavioral expectations for students and share with students and families.
•    Regularly assess student learning by using multiple forms of assessment.
•    Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.
•    Fulfill responsibilities as defined by the current teachers working agreement.
Pay and Benefits:  Salary Range depending on education and experience:  $44,582-$83,214.  Benefits are in accordance with the teacher labor agreement

POSITION: Head Cheer Coach

LOCATION: Lester Prairie High School

STARTING DATE: 2026-2027 School Year

SALARY RANGE: $1,337.46- $1,806.90

REPORTS TO: Activities Director

DATE OF POSTING: April 28, 2026

Description:

1. Lead the planning, development, and execution of the Sideline Cheer program by focusing on building a positive culture and developing quality relationships with student-athletes and parents

2. Implement an effective training and competition program that maximizes student-athlete performance in the sport, including strength training

3. Provide direction and evaluation for assistant coaches in the program to ensure continuity through all levels

4. Communicate effectively with all program stakeholders to ensure a positive, quality experience is provided for our student-athletes

5. Manage equipment inventory and budget for program

6. Perform other duties as outlined by the MSHSL, Coaches Handbook, and Section Tournament Administrators

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Minnesota coaching certification or meets acceptable criteria for non-licensed coach

2. Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program

3. Prefer previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport

4. The Head Coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport

5. Works collaboratively with students, parents, and other members of the community

6. Effective interpersonal interactions and communication skills as applied to interaction with both youth and adults

7. Skilled in team building, decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution

8. Ability to serve as an effective role model for student-athletes and represent Lester Prairie Schools with respect in all communities
