Circular (Table) Saw
SAFETY INSTRUCTION FOR CIRCULER SAW

1. The guard must be kept over the blade at all times.

2. The blade should not extend more than 1/8’’ over the stock. Or the depth of the teeth.

3. The splitter guard must be aligned with the blade.

4. Make sure all fences are fastened securely before turning on the machine.

5. The edge you run against the fence should be square and true.

6. All adjustments should be made when the machine is at a dead stop.

7. Make sure there are no wood scraps laying around before you turn the machine on.

8. All special setups should be inspected by the teacher.

9. If you tilt the saw blade, make sure it will clear on both sides before turning the machine on.

10. Do not use a dull blade.

11. Have saw running at full speed before you start cutting.

12. Do not cut used, warped, or any damaged wood.

13. No wood under 12’’ should be ripped.

14. Re-sawing of small pieces is not allowed.

15. Cylindrical stock should not be cut on this saw.

16. A clearance block must be securely fastened to the ripping fence when it is being used for a stop for cross cutting.

17. You should use a push stick when stock is less than 4’’ wide.

18. Stand to one side when turning on the power.

19. Do not stand behind stock when cutting.

20. Do not crowed or bind the saw.

21. No stock should be ripped or crosscut without using the proper fence.

22. Never pull material through the saw, always push it.

23. Do not place your hands in front of or over a moving blade.

24. Do not attempt to clear scraps away from around the blade, while on.

25. Never lower stock down onto the blade.

26. Always turn the saw off when you are leaving it.

27. Clean up big pieces of scrap when done.

28. When helping to “tail off” the saw, helper must only hold up wood, never pull.

29. Turn off the back up switch when changing blade. (Unplug)
